Today, in this tech world, where everything is becoming increasingly modern & digitised, there is a high demand for computer engineers who can navigate the current trends of AI & machine learning. India also has to move with them, given the very high demand for AI & ML jobs.
India ranks globally under 10 in technology markets worldwide, with Bengaluru and Hyderabad emerging as tech hubs in the Asia Pacific, riding a tech wave. With the role in AI markets & machine learning, demand for jobs in India has seen a significant increase.
There is a very high demand for these jobs in various industries, such as BFSI, healthcare, retail, and e-commerce. Primarily, companies are hiring engineers with knowledge of working with AI automation tools, predictive analytics, and AI governance, which can create a rich ecosystem of AI & ML roles. Not only this, but it will also provide a very high package.
List of AI & ML jobs in 2025
Before entering the world of AI & ML jobs, you should explore the tech world. So you must be curious to learn about the different types of AI & ML jobs in 2025. Below, we have listed some of the essential career options in AI & ML jobs for 2025 that can influence you to start with these highly demanding career options in 2025.

1. Machine Learning Engineer
So, let's discuss the most demanding career option: a Machine Learning Engineer, who helps in building intelligent automation systems that also enable effective decision-making.
An ML Engineer helps in building real-world applications by leveraging the complete AI research world. Also, remember that the minimum salary package for an ML engineer ranges between 12 to 18 lakhs, which can increase up to 40 lakhs depending on their knowledge & experience. The ML engineer requires a solid foundation in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, model deployment, and statistics, with additional knowledge of AWS/GCP.
2. AI Research Scientist
The next important AI job in 2025 is an AI research scientist who thinks about innovation by creating new algorithms & LLM architecture with various AI learning methods.
The AI research scientist must possess a solid foundation in key areas, including deep learning, mathematics, algorithms, and logic building. And if you had a professional degree or a certification course in this field, then it will add colour to your AI job portfolio. The salary range for AI researchers can vary from 18 to 22 lakhs, with the potential to reach up to 30 lakhs with more experience, deep understanding, and extensive research work in Labs.
3. Data Scientist (AI Specialisation)
The next meaningful career is becoming a data scientist, as you already know that everything is being saved on the cloud. There is a requirement for a person to preserve that confidential data from hackers.
And a data scientist with AI specialisation will also take your career to the next level by having full knowledge of creating patterns & building predictive models across various industry sectors, such as medical, banking, corporate, fintech, retail, e-commerce & many more data-centric industries.
If we discuss the salary package, a normal, inexperienced data scientist can earn between 10 to 18 lakhs to 25 lakhs with whole experience in GCCs (Global Capability Centres).
