The tableaux represent different cultural performances from different states of the country that showcase India's diverse culture & patriotic traditions.


It has also given musical & visual storytelling tributes to the national song. The Republic Day Parade represents the sacrifices that were made by our freedom fighters in the past to unite India today.


Through Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's Vande Mataram song, it strengthens national unity & cultural confidence among Indians as a global power among the young generation to respect freedom fighter sacrifices & constitutional values & national heritage.


Flag Hosting Ceremony


In the 77th Republic Day ceremony, the President of India and the Prime Minister of India address national narratives & inspiring Indian citizens.


Every year, 26 Jan is celebrated as Indian Republic Day, which represents the adoption of the Indian Constitution, which is a symbol of democracy, unity & national pride. 


As it is the tradition of our country to formally start the event with the president, Droupadi Murmu, President of India, addresses the nation by hoisting the flag at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. 


Droupadi Murmu, President of India, also gave her speech that reflects India’s democratic journey, constitutional values, and major achievements of the past year. In her speech, she formally addresses various sectors of India's growth, such as governance, education, economic growth, science and technology, social justice, and national security. She had also focused on sacrifices made by our freedom fighters & also acknowledged various sectors that are contributing to our Indian economy, such as farmers, workers,  armed forces, athletes, women, etc.


On the remarkable occasion, our PM Narendra Modi had also addressed the nation by his formal Republic Day parade & speech at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. The speech focuses on Indian development & growth, innovation, infrastructure, self-reliance & becoming a global presence in the world. He had also laid down some glimpses of Indian growth in technology advancement & achievements, such as digital transformation, healthcare & startups, etc.


How can we forget his speech, motivation, and encouragement of youth and women for India's long-term growth?  


There were other important national dignitaries also, such as Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan, the Chief Justice of India, and Members of Parliament, who attended the Republic Day event and praised the Constitution’s ideals. A formal speech & participation by all national dignitaries had also played a very crucial role in representing Indian achievement in various sectors such as defense, culture, development, and growth of India.


There were also special invitations that signify their contribution to India through society, artists, athletes, educators, and scientists. 


2026 Republic Day Chief Guest


On this 77th Republic Day, 2026, the chief guests were European Union leaders Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, to strengthen diplomatic ties and showcase global friendship around the world. Their presence on this 77th Republic Day represents a strong connection of economic partnership between India & the EU.


As the guest, Ursula von der Leyen expressed India’s growing role in global stability and prosperity. 

It was a momentous occasion, as the dual representation from the EU symbolized solidarity, shared democratic values, and collaboration on global issues such as trade, climate change, and security.
