How the University Entry Scheme (UES) is a Roadmap to the Indian Army?


So, if you are an engineering student & have done your engineering with any of the branches such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Computer Science, or Electronics then you don't need to worry. You can join the Indian Army by clearing the University Entry Scheme(UES) Exam without going through NDA or CDS.


It is a special entry into the Indian Army, which is designed for engineering students who are in their 4th year of graduation; that provides a direct pathway for technically skilled & passionate to join the Indian Army as a highly valued commissioned officer position in the technical branch.


After following the eligibility criteria, B.Tech 4th year with 18  to 25 of age, the candidates are being shortlisted based on different engineering backgrounds, academic performance & Army requirements. After evaluation of the eligibility criteria, the shortlisted candidates are called for a Services Selection Board(SSB) interview that includes various levels of modules such as psychological tests, group tasks, & personal interviews, etc.


So after clearing the interview, candidates are called for a Medical fitness exam to test whether they are eligible to handle difficult situations.So, the candidate also needs to clear the medical Training. The candidate is called for Training, a small test at the Officers Training Academy( OTA) or Indian Military Academy (IMA), where the shortlisted candidates are provided Training to prepare for joining the Indian Army.
