Guidance
to get admission to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
So
let's start now with what you came here for: to become a CA. The following
steps need to be followed to become a CA:
1.
Register with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Before
starting further, you must register with the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of India after completing 12th with a commerce background. If you are a
commerce graduate, you need to have 55%, while non-commerce graduates must
score 60% to gain direct entry into the Institute of Chartered Accountants of
India. The exam is conducted twice a year, and the subjects are accounting,
business math, laws, and economics. So, when preparing for this exam, try to
understand it fully so it can help you later.
2:
Clearing the CA exam
To get
into the next level, you need to clear the CA foundation exam with a minimum of
40% in each subject & an average of 50%.
3.
Clearing CA Foundation Exam
To move
to the second level, you need to register with CA Intermediate, which is more
advanced than the previous level. It also includes the same subjects at the
advanced & difficult levels. Some of the subjects are accounting and
corporate taxation, auditing, financial management & economics. So if you
are planning to clear this level, try to practice & revise at a much deeper
level to have a better understanding.
4:
Three years of training in Articleship
After
clearing the previous CA intermediate exam, you have to do articleship for
about 3 years, which helps you to gain real-time experience, as you have to
work under a CA firm & gain practical experience in auditing, taxation, and
financial reporting.
5:
Register for the last CA Final Exam
After
clearing the previous two CA exams, you need to register for the final and most
important exam, the CA Final, to complete your journey of becoming a CA. So it
also includes some of the previous level subjects & some more advanced
level subjects, such as financial reporting, strategic financial management,
advanced auditing, corporate & economic laws, direct tax laws, and indirect
tax laws. So to become a CA, you need to have proper time management and
consistency in hard work. Concepts must be clear, and regular revision is
necessary to achieve success, as this is the final and most challenging stage
of earning the CA designation.
6:
Become a Certified CA
After
clearing all previous levels of exams and articleship with full dedication,
discipline, and consistency, you become a certified CA by registering as a
member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. So if we calculate
the minimum limit to get respected, the reputed position of CA is 4 to 5 years,
which can be exceeded based on the aspirant's level of understanding & how
quickly it clears the exams.
Salary
& Career

we forget the most important thing to become a CA? Yes, you are thinking it
right: salary & what various career options are associated with it.
